Bali is the perfect place to go on honeymoon as it is both spiritual and hedonistic. Everywhere you go you will see temples or paddy fields and due to its amazing natural beauty Bali is known as the Island of the Gods. You can get a wedding package which will cover everything and you can get married on a beautiful beach with the sea in the background but if you decide to go there after your marriage you will never be short of ideas what to do.

If you want to explore the island you can hire mopeds for the duration of your stay and this is the best way to get around. If you want uncrowded beaches and everything you need for snorkelling and diving you should head for the beautiful north of the island but if you feel like being pampered The Damai, also in the north, offers a wide range of exotic pampering treatments.

For lovers of culture Ubud is the cultural heart of Bali where there are magnificent temples and you can watch performances of traditional Balinese dancing. The temples usually have a background of spectacular river gorges and you will also find verdant forests and crater lakes at Ubud. One thing you will never be short of in Bali is sunshine as the days are long, sunny and hot but if you want to avoid rain then Bali has two different seasons, wet and dry, although even in the wet season there is still tropical heat and sunshine.

The dry season runs from May to September where you get seven hours of uninterrupted sunshine every day and the wet season is from October to April when there are frequent and heavy rain showers. But even during the wet season there is still plenty to do as frequent colourful, vibrant festivals are held. The best beaches on the island are on the west coast at the Bukit Peninsula and if you like surfing you should head for there. You will find the best opportunities to surf during the dry season.

There is something very exotic about staying in Bali, even the name of the place has a magical aura of its own. Wonderful jewellery and wooden items can be picked up for a song and there are a range of different types of places to stay. These vary from spa hotels where you can have different treatments every day to all inclusive hotels which offer a variety of water sports. You cannot help falling in love with the place for its friendly atmosphere and outstanding beauty. Visiting Bali is the nearest thing you will find to paradise and you will never want to leave.

You will be able to watch the locals working in the paddy fields and woman walking around with baskets of fruit on their head. Everything is a blaze of colour and tropical heat so it will give you an experience you will remember for the rest of your life. The residents love to welcome foreigners to their island and you will be sure of a very warm welcome, especially if you are newly-weds.
